Overview

Axi Recruitment is working with an established business in Hull for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within procurement and be able to problem-solve and identify cost-saving solutions.

Job Details

• Work with the Purchasing Team to place purchase orders for specific product categories.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain order confirmations and delivery dates.
• Review and action outstanding purchase order reports including updating system and liaising with the Sales Administration Team.
• Action any potential stock level and supply chain issues within your specific product categories.
• Liaise with transport companies to book in deliveries and update system with dates accordingly.
• Work closely with all internal departments regarding the administrative aspects of purchasing.
• Be involved in supplier meetings.
• Assist in the sourcing of products.

Experience

• Have a proactive and positive approach with strong analytical skills for facts and figures
• Experience in a similar role advantageous.
• Good problem-solving skills with experience in negotiation.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong IT literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good understanding of the supply chain and procurement process.
• Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain supplier relationships.
• Be analytical and proactive.
